Sally:

No one has bothered to find out who these people were. William P. Smith is likely a relative. Courts are usually more precise than census takers. 'Brother William' from the 1880 census in Hickman is William J. Smith.

I will write to someone in Williamson County Court Records for the full details of the original.

Sally:

I found this in an abstract from the 'Nashville Christian Advocate' - dated 15 Apr 1852

LUKE L. SMITH died Feb. 28, 1852 in his 34th year, Williamson Co., Tenn.; licensed in 1844 to preach locally as MECS preacher.(Editor’s Note: MECS = “Methodist Episcopal Church, South”)

I gave this information to Vance Little a Genealogist at that church about a year ago but have not heard back from him.

Luke Lee Sr.'s other children are listed as:

                                Susan C Smith,

                                Mary E. Smith,

                                William J Smith.

(Erroneously listed as James T William Smith. Do you have any other information regarding their marriages or whereabouts?)

Censuses after 1880 give State of birth for individual and both parents. I need this to track Luke Lee Sr. and his father Thomas B Smith.

There is a Smith Cemetery in Nolensville, Tennessee that I believe is ours. Thanks for the information regarding Mary Elizabeth Allen and the Pate family and the contact names.
