To the viewer who wonders who Clarence Edward Smith is, he
is family and my beloved uncle. He was the son of John D.
Smith and Emma Deller Thurman and the brother of Amanda
Lois Smith, John Harold Smith, Hurtis Alvin Smith and James
Claiborne Smith. He was first married to Donnie Mae Kennedy
in 1939 and after she passed in 1979, he married her sister
