Information on Grandma Elsie’s brothers and one sister: In a 1949 letter written to her cousin Francis Willard “Frank” Green (His father, Willard Davis Green, was Grandma Elsie’s uncle), Elsie Elnora Green relates that her older brother Hiram lived in Malvern, Arkansas, living alone on a small place. He had married but his wife died eight months after the wedding. Elsie goes on to say that her brothers Bert (has to be Robert H. Green) and Ralph (Ralph W. Green) lived in Ogden, Utah. According to the letter, Bert had 3 girls, all married, with 2 children each and worked as a road builder. She relates that Ralph had no children and worked in a railroad office. Bert and Ralph used to come to Louisiana every year or so to visit their dad, Francis Edward Green. Elsie said that her sister Merle (Frances Merle Green) lived on a farm 12 miles from Leesville, Louisiana. Aunt Merle had six children, two boys who were grown and four in school. She was married to a barber. Grandma Elsie commented that her sister Merle was short like Grandma Green. By “Grandma Green” she must have meant Grandma Fannie Marie (Bray) Green.
