Before establishing a website on the internet, I wanted to be sure to ask permission of the people who had contributed so much to this genealogy.

I did not seek permission to publish from relatives who are already on the internet. This includes, in large part, the genealogical data in the LINEAGES section.

My Dear Cousin,

It has been my pleasure to pass on the stories my parents told me. I only hope my memory is clear, it must be said. That these writings were passed on to me and my siblings. You have my permission to print anything I have written as it was to the best of my knowledge and passed down from my parents memories. Each family had some difference in some of the stories. If all put together could bring about some hard facts.

As to Hershel and Margueritte's DOB;

Willard Hershel DOB May 11,1915

Margueritte (NMN) DOB May 08,1918

I will get back to you after reading the hardcopy.

Dear Don

Thank you so much for your update on Charles. I talked to him a few months ago and he said he won't be online anymore, so it's snail mail. I'm glad to hear he's doing well. I will write him a long, newsy letter soon. Things here have been hectic as Tom's mom, in Las Vegas, is not well at all. We have been going back and forth to see her and thankfully, she now has hospice care. The Dr. says she has about 6 months to live and of course, her husband who almost 90, is beside himself. It's a sad time.

Of course you may use any and all information on the Carter family.

Thanks again Don, for the update.

Sincerely,

Marilyn

Permission To Publish From Marilyn Kowalski (Email):

On 05/15/2006, I obtained oral permission by phone from Marilyn Kowalski to publish. She indicated there were some names to “X” out. I emailed her the Green Genealogy and she emailed back her changes. That was done, so she gave her final approval on 5/20/2006:

Hi, Don

The changes in the file look OK to me.  Thanks for xing out the names I requested.  I am in hopes that  protects the ones living that may not want their names out in the public.  Be interesting to see what responses you get from this info. that is made public!

Permission To Publish From Ralph Raymond “Ray” Smith (Email):

(I sent Ray the following message on May 20, 2006)

Dear Ray:

How are you? I have a question to ask you about the death of your dad, Ralph Smith. I have 1981. Bertha "Bee " Smith said she believes that it was closer to 1991. Can you help us out. Also, I will be establishing a web site for the Smith Family Genealogy. I need your permission to include info which you sent via email, like Luke Lee Smith, Sr named in various wills, etc.

Regards from the cuz, DON

(Ray responded with this message on June 8, 2006)

Don:

I haven't used that e-mail address for some time. Please change to this one. I will e-mail you the information regarding my father tonight. Off hand I think it was in 87. Of course you have permission to use any of my information that you choose. I will send a written confirmation to you. E-mail me your home address.

Later,

Ray

Permission To Publish From John J. Emerson:

On 10/04/2006, I emailed Mr. John  J. Emerson requesting permission to include much of his website on Alpheus Dumbleton on this website.

His reply of 10/05/2006:

Sure, I put that up in the hope that some other Dumbleton descendant would run into it. Mission accomplished! It's a rare name and it was fun to trace it on the internet. Use the material as you wish.

National Archives in Washington, D. C.:

I did not require “Permission To Publish” from the National Archives as these are public records and in the public domain. The military records for David Washington Self, Thomas Spencer Williams and Horace Dumbleton were received with great appreciation. It sure helped fill in the blanks. To request a military record from the National Archives, go to the their website and request form: NATF Form 86 (rev. 5-2002). The fee is $17.00. The website is: http://www.archives.gov/
